Almost February!

I can't believe it's almost February and we have no snow and the temperature is still pretty mild. Our winter has been very.....un-winter-like.  I am not really complaining, but yet a little snow so my boy could go sledding again would be nice. He did get a sled for Christmas that hasn't touched the cold wet stuff.  We have been getting hints of snow but then the temp comes up and it's gone.

Grandpa Woody had to move into the nursing home a couple weeks ago, and the day after he did he fell and broke his shoulder. So now he is in a sling due to surgery being too risky for him. It's hard seeing loved ones hurting.

We have been a little anxious lately about our future. We have made an offer on some land, and are now waiting on what they have to say about it.  We eventually want to build a house on it, but first things first--get the land!!  It's exciting but makes me nervous to start a new venture.  I have a couple house plans picked out, but need to decide on which we can afford. Most importantly which one will feel like "home". But anywhere I am with my boys will be home to me. :)

We are on to a frugal life for awhile now, need to pay off some bills and start saving. We have been doing really well-I need to give props to Quay for not spending.

Health and Happiness

First off....I need to be and want to be healthy. We don't eat enough of the "good stuff" in our house-and I want to change that. I bought fruit this week at the grocery store-more than normal, and we have all been eating it-not just Ryder.  I have been eating smaller portions at supper, and I started eating Special K for lunch. I did the special K thing last winter and I know I lost some weight before our vacation. I am not a breakfast eater, but I sometimes have a cup of coffee.  I know I need to workout, and from what I have heard, you don't need to work out for an hour every day. Last night I worked out for about 25 mins after discovering tumbler.com.  Tonight I did this exercise regimine I found on Pinterest. It wasn't easy-but I did it!

I want to try and do something like this everyday and see what happens. I think it will be best if I change it up every day so I don't get bored with it.  Last night I took some before pics, hopefully in a month or two I can post them with after pics. :)

Quickly

Yes-that is right-time goes by so quickly.  Christmas vacation seems like a blur and so long ago already. Ryder has been back in school for a week now. I was looking forward to it so much, and now it's over and gone and winter is still here. Summer can't come soon enough.  Although these temps we've been having are alright!

Ryder had his Christmas program on December 20th at school-it was so cute! He was so excited for it. Then on the 21st was his Christmas party at school. I went and helped with it--those little kids are all so cute!
He has the white tie on.

Okay-so Christmas-it was really nice. We went to church on Christmas Eve with all of our families, then spent the evening in town at the Hagel side.  Christmas morning we had to wake Ryder up, and he had found that Santa came once again!!  He brought goodies for all.  We headed out to the Wiedrich side after our gift opening at home.  Everyone was there except Jessen and Kayden who were with their mom for the weekend.  We all got what we wanted I believe and we ate too much and laughed plenty.

Fast forward one week-we spent New Years eve at my parents house. We played games and ate and then ate some more. It was fun! Ryder found that he is really good at jousting on the Wii.

Now here we are--mid-winter already and it's still in the 40's for temps. But I read this morning that our warm spell is coming to an end with below zero wind chills and snow flurries coming soon. I guess it will make it feel like home.

We have exciting news in the process.....I will explain more when it all becomes a little more "real". So I will keep all in suspense. :)
